Thank you for writing such an objective article, full of idealistic and protective feelings, about something of tremendous importance that is Vedic Astrology.
This is really what is missing in our society as a whole, responsibility and altruism when it comes to dealing with an ancient tradition in such a banal way, generating disastrous and unbalanced consequences in our society.
Thank you for your comment, much appreciated! I practice classical Western astrology, but what I mentioned goes for both Vedic and Western astrology as both are being diluted and falsified in the day and age we live in. I have nothing but respect for the ancient Vedic tradition.
as I see it the problem is that "intuition" and "intellectual" knowledge have flown apart. They need to be put back together. Astrology is "intellectual" in the sense that it depends on clear concepts and rules for making interpretations. but also, we "intuitively" know when an interpretation is good because it really does provide some genuine insight about a person or situation. So it's not that astrology can operate on cookie-cutter formulas (in which case AI could do it) but requires a human perspective.
Couldn't agree more! My point was also to not cut off intuition as it is extremely important, but it's a catastrophically bad idea to base one's practice upon it without having a grasp of the "intellectual" level first.
What is your take on forensic astronomy merged with mythopoetic descriptions of purpose?
Looking at the real-sky sidereal zodiac and relaying the myths from the inventory of a particular constellation is a precise method.
For example, I have the Sun at 230EPL in the Fulcrum of the Scales. Therefore my radiance is expressed through existential encounters in the real world, particularly in the realm of agreements. How I act upon this is down to my own capacity or short-comings as a human participator in the game of life.
To say the sun represents radiance is 'mythic' as well as obvious. The radiant stone could be a further allusion.
The Scales is an image traditionally associated with courts, which is a place where decisions are made. It's also a gaming arena, hence the term 'court'. These decisions that impact real life.
The above is a small example of 'mythopoesis' in relation to my birth-chart. And I find it to be a guiding compass for reality.
It is a times allusive, but nevertheless precise in it's basis, which is observation of the astronomical date.
I am curious to know your thoughts as it relates to the article above, which specifies an adherence to technique and precision.
That sounds exciting! I haven't heard of that, tbh. But it's great if you find it valuable for your own path, and it seems like you really resonate with it. I'd have to look further into that, but I'm a Western astrologer and therefore do not work with the sidereal zodiac. Thanks so much for reading and for commenting!
It is a powerful article. I was drawn to it through Thomas Sheridan.
The new age have indeed muddied the waters of the astrological world.
Thank you for your respone. As I understand, in their correct space, tropical and sidereal methods are complementary and in alliance. It's a big discussion.
Honouring the time tested art and method is major battle ground against the woke agenda.
Yes, tropical and sidereal follow different paths that lead to pretty much the same results, and I have nothing but respect for Vedic astrology even if I don't practice it. Unfortunately, a lot of astrologers from both systems try to pit one against the other, which is childish and very damaging. Reconnecting with one's ancestral wisdom in whatever form is the one "weapon" we have against the current madness.

Thanks again!

Bravo!

Pitting is also a waste of time. Mutual recognition is key.
Yes, these ancient ancestral treasures are "weapons" against insanity.
Sweet thread.

Absolutely true. real astrologers make predictions, not babble on about star seeds and lion's gate nonsense.
Love your 'take no prisoners' approch 👏
