FULL MOON IN LIBRA
In a cautious, but solid Arabic Lunar Mansion
On April 2, we have a Full Moon in the cardinal air sign Libra. Ruled by Venus, this sign is the embodiment of balance, harmony, justice, and beauty. It centers around relationships and one’s own needs brought into an equilibrium with the other side, with compromises that are fair and beneficial to both. The less positive expression of a Libra Moon in a natal chart is a tendency to rationalize one’s own emotions too much, and even sacrifice one’s own emotional needs for the sake of harmony and peace. In a Full Moon context, symbolizing the culmination of a development and ending of an old cycle, it shows us where we have the opportunity to solidify a healthy and grounded approach to relationships, self-assertion (with the Sun in Aries) and creating a truly harmonious environment. It reflects where we may have become more courageous to shine, strengthen our will, form meaningful bonds and speak our minds without false diplomacy.
During the exact opposition with the Sun in Aries, the Moon in Libra is placed in an Arabic Lunar Mansion (Manzil) called The Covering and The Scribe, also referred to as The Form Giver. It is connected to business and financial success, and considered auspicious for ritual workings in this vein. However, this is not for spectacular or quick outcomes, but slow and consistent preservation and growth that can also be translated to other areas in your life, depending which house in your chart the Moon falls into. This Manzil has a rather cautious, risk-averse nature that seeks to safeguard through decisive, but very well contemplated action. This sounds like good advice in general, especially when it comes to business and money. The latter is connected to Libra’s ruling planet Venus, which is currently in security- and comfort-loving Taurus.
Mars and Mercury are further associated with the lunar mansion, giving more nuance to how the mansion’s story can express itself: both are still in somewhat disorganized and murky Pisces, which currently emphasizes the notion of having planted something that is not yet coming to the surface. But it will, and it also signals that it’s time to trust your gut and aim for longevity along with alignment with your deep values.
Despite Libra being an air sign known for its rational, logical approach and Aries’ forward, passionate, and definitely not brooding nature, this Full Moon does have an emotional level to it because of a T-square with Jupiter in Cancer. Since Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, its influence is even more freely expressed, which can lead to being overly attached to the past, for example. The Full Moon’s quality challenges us to question past connections and burdens, and seek ways to integrate what has been with what is relevant to us now and going forward. It doesn’t have to be anything radical, but more like seeing yesterday as a stepping stone instead of an anchor.
